Edit a Structure

Chemical structures can be edited by using the edit function which is available through the ribbon or by double-clicking the structure if Options > Event Handling > Mouse Events > Double-click Opens Structure Editor is set to TRUE.

Marvin OLE format structures automatically change to JChem for Office objects after double-clicking on them if Options > Image Formatting > Formatting > Replace OLE with JCO object upon editing is set to TRUE.

To edit a structure, follow the steps below.

1. Select a structure by simply clicking it.

   

2. Click the Edit button on the JChem ribbon.

   

3. As the structure is opened in the editor edit it as needed.

   

4. Click OK to save the changes or Cancel to discard them.

{info} The undo and redo functions of Microsoft Office applications cannot be used in structure management.
