BioEddie Interface Overview

The Editor's functions are accessed through interaction with the following components:

Canvas/Primary View

The Canvas/Primary View is the main working area where molecules are created, edited and visualized. For further information about macromolecule editing see the Working in the Editor section.

Opening/closing panels in the editor will alter the available canvas size.

In the Primary View, the following views can be selected by clicking on the view selection button at the top left of the Canvas:

View options

• Canvas View : the surface for editing visual HELM-based representation of macromolecules

• Structure View : displays overall/selected chemical structure images

• Sequence View : shows the editable sequences of protein/DNA/RNA chains

• HELM View : shows the non-editable HELM string of macromolecules

• Annotation View : annotations appended to macromolecules are listed here

Secondary View

This area provides an additional surface for different contexts/representations of macromolecules present in the editor. The context views can be selected by clicking on the view selection button at the lop left of the Secondary View.

View options: the views listed above can be selected except the Canvas View.
