Selecting a Structure

The table below shows the selection modes that are available in MarvinSketch,

Selection mode name Icon Use examples
Rectangle Selection Rectangle selection icon To select an atom, click it.
To select a bond, click it.
To select a rectangular region on the canvas, hold the left mouse button and draw the selection range.
To select a structure, double-click any part of it.
Lasso Selection Lasso selection icon To select an atom, click it.
To select a bond, click it.
To select a non-rectangular region on the canvas, hold the left mouse button and draw the selection range.
To select a structure, double-click any part of it.
Structure Selection Structure selection icon To select a structure, click on an atom or a bond.

To unselect everything, just click an empty area of the canvas.
The selection can be inverted by pressing Ctrl+Shift+I.
