History of Changes - JChem for Office

    May 8th, 2025: JChem for Office 25.2.1 (Radium.1)

Radium.1 has been released based on the Frequent Release 25.1.2.

Changes are listed from our last LTS release (Platinum.3).

    Marvin/JChem 25.2.1 used.

    New Feature

    • Marvin can be selected as chemical editor and renderer in JChem for Office.
    • Structure Editor options such as JavaMarvin, Marvin .NET and previously used Marvin occurences have been renamed as MarvinSketch to refer to the standalone desktop MarvinSketch editor integrated into JChem for Office. MarvinSketch remains the default renderer and editor in JChem for Office.
    • CXON chemical file format is now recognized and its use is supported across all Office apps in JChem for Office.

    Improvement

    • There is a warning message appearing when editing CXON with MarvinSketch to inform the user about a possible information loss due to unsupported CXON features.

    Bug Fixes

    • Rendering failed on filter forms in Word/PowerPoint when the filter molecule was in CXON format and the renderer was set to Marvin or Autodetect.
    • Adding a text or graphical object to a structure copied as MOL or RXN into Excel was lost.
