JChem Base License Key

The maximum number of substructure and similarity searches per minute allowed by JChem Base is calculated from the license key entered using JChemManager. If no license key has been specified, then the program is in demo mode that allows one search per minute. Without a license key sent by Chemaxon or one of its distributors, the program can only be used for evaluation.

Before applying for a license key, the maximum number of substructure and similarity searches per minute should be predicted.

The following table helps you to determine the optimal access level. Using the Poisson distribution, the maximum number of searches can be calculated from the average number of searches at a given probability level.

#### Example for using the table: Assume that you would like to be 99% sure that the maximum number of searches will not be exceeded in a one minute period. If you expect that the average number of searches will be 10 per minute at peak time, then choose 17 for the access level.
