Import from Database in JChem for Office

It is possible to import structures and other data from the JChem Cartridge and JChem Base tables.

The table below shows a summary of the data and structure handling.

If a column in the table has a JChem Cartridge domain index, the column has an indexed postfix after it.

If a table is a JChem Base table, and it also has a Cartridge domain index, the search method can be selected in Search Options. It is also possible to select the target column with the cartridge search if more than one structure column contains an index in the table.

{info} JChem Base tables could be created using JChem Manager, or Instant JChem.

The Import from Database dialog consists of the following tabs:

• Database: The list of databases to which you can connect to, perform searches in, and map data from them to Office applications is listed on this tab.

• Query: Use this tab to specify a query structure to perform a structure search. Different search criteria can be specified on this tab as well.

• Columns: Columns available in the previously selected database are listed here, and the ones to be imported can be selected by checkboxes.

• Rows: Rows in previously searched columns will be displayed here.

• Progress: This tab informs the user about the status of the database import process.
