Import from IJC Database in JChem for Office-Source Tab

    Before initiating an IJC database import, Spotfire and JChem for Excel integration must be started in Instant JChem.

    On the Source tab, you can select a source for import and you can specify data placement settings.

    URL

    The personal server address you want to use can be entered in the IJCServerSelectorView form or you can select one of the servers previously used from a drop-down list.

    The IJCServerSelectorView form can be opened by pressing the small browse icon next to the URL field.

    The address must be entered in the following format:

    http://<IPaddress of the server>:<port number>

    After specifying a valid server address press the Next button to open the Data tree and Import options form where you can select a data tree.

    Only one data tree can be selected to be imported. You can decide if you want to import all records from the selected data tree or only the current result set retrieved from the database in the IJC application.

    After pressing the Finish button on the Data tree and Import options form, the address of the selected data tree will be displayed in the URL field of the Source tab.

    Format Specific Import Options

    • Skip Atom Values: It is possible to import structures from the IJC data table without atom numbers by selecting this check-box. The check-box is unselected by default.

    Data Placement

    By using the Max number of imported structures field, you can specify the maximum numbers to be imported. The default value is 50.

    Use Options > Data Mapping Limitations to change the default maximum value.

    Layout of structures

    You can specify how to display the imported structures in the Microsoft Office applications. The following options are available:

    • One structure per page with properties: Only one structure with its data is displayed per page/slide in the Microsoft Office applications.

    • Multiple structures: Structures with their data are displayed in tables in Microsoft Office applications. Specify the number of structures in a table. Values between 1-10 are accepted by the system, the default value is 10.

    Map Hit Coloring

    It is possible to apply structure filtering with hit coloring on records displayed on the Rows tab.

    You can specify whether hit coloring applied on the Rows tab is kept when mapping records to the document or not. The checkbox is not selected by default.

    Clicking the Next switches to the Columns tab.
