JChem for Excel User's Guide

JChem for Excel is part of Chemaxon's JChem for Office package. This chemoinformatics solution in Microsoft Office products enables scientists to manage and analyze chemical structures and their data in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Since JChem for Excel is rather a data analysis tool, while JChem for Office is more of a reporting tool, the documentation of these products is separated.

For the JChem for Office documentation, see JChem for Office User's Guide.

For a list of supported environments, see Supported Versions.

The main features of JChem for Excel are as follows:

    • Importing structures and data from databases and files

    • Exporting data to files

    • Adding and editing structures

    • Sorting and filtering structures and associated data

    • R-Group decompositions

    • Custom chemical Excel functions for calculating structure properties

Also, the screenshots usually show the Advanced JChem ribbon. Depending on your settings and environment, your Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) can look different.
