When opening the task pane hosted editor, the canvas is empty in the following cases:

  • Nothing is selected.

  • The selected cell does not contain a structure.

  • More than one cell is selected (in this case, editing is not possible).

By default, when adding or editing structures, the system does not ask for confirmation.

You can enable confirmation dialogs by checking the Confirmation on change checkbox at the bottom-left corner of the window.
